Corrections Policy
DeshTak.com is committed to accurate, fair and responsible journalism. Our credibility depends on promptly correcting errors and clearly informing our readers whenever we update or amend our published content.
1. Our commitment to accuracy
-
We aim to verify information before publication through reliable sources and editorial checks.
-
When factual mistakes or misleading statements are identified, we take corrective action as soon as reasonably possible.
-
We distinguish between factual errors, lack of clarity, and changes made for style or readability.
2. When do we correct content?
We will consider a correction or clarification in the following situations:
-
A fact in the story is wrong (names, dates, numbers, quotes, locations, attributions, etc.).
-
A headline, caption, or social media post misrepresents the content.
-
The story may be technically accurate but is incomplete or could significantly mislead a reasonable reader without additional context.
-
A legal or regulatory requirement obliges us to correct, update, or remove content.
In rare and serious cases, we may retract or take down an article where errors are so fundamental that they cannot be responsibly corrected.
3. Types of editorial action
Depending on the issue, DeshTak.com may take one or more of the following editorial actions:
-
Correction: A factual error is corrected in the text and a clear correction note is added, stating what was wrong and what has been changed.
-
Clarification: The content was not factually wrong, but may have been confusing or incomplete; we will revise the text for clarity and add a note explaining the update.
-
Update: New information becomes available after publication (for example, developing news). In such cases, we may update the story and mention that it has been updated with new details.
-
Retraction/Removal: In exceptional cases, where an article contains multiple serious errors or legal concerns, we may remove it entirely and replace it with a brief notice explaining the reason.
4. How we display corrections
-
Online corrections are made on the same page where the error occurred, without hiding the fact that a change has been made.
-
An “Editor’s Note” or “Correction” line will usually appear at the top or bottom of the article, mentioning:
-
what was incorrect,
-
what the correct information is, and
-
the date on which the correction was made.
-
-
If the error was also carried on our social media platforms, we may post a corrected version or an explanatory note there as well, where appropriate.
Example correction note (you can adapt as needed):
“Correction (30 January 2026): An earlier version of this article misstated the number of seats won. The correct figure is 45 seats, not 54.”
5. How readers can request a correction
If you believe DeshTak.com has published incorrect or misleading information about you or any subject, you can request a correction using the following process:
Please email us with:
-
The exact URL of the article or content.
-
A clear description of the error you have identified.
-
The correct information, with supporting documents or links wherever possible.
-
Your full name and contact details (email and mobile number) so that we can reach you for clarification if needed.
Email for corrections and content‑related complaints:
official.deshtak@gmail.com
We will review your request, verify the claim, and decide whether a correction, clarification, update, or no change is warranted. Where a correction is justified, we will implement it as soon as reasonably practicable and in line with this policy.
6. Relation to our Grievance & Legal Policies
This Corrections Policy works alongside our Grievance Redressal Policy and other legal or editorial policies of DeshTak.com. Issues involving defamation, privacy, copyright, hate speech, or other legal concerns may be handled under both this Corrections Policy and our grievance mechanisms, as appropriate.
